The Viennese trio Mekongg which I am part of – ironically buried itself 2019 by their Graveyard Disco and recently resurrected – catapults itself back onto the stage of the un-undead with elegiac noise rock. A classic formation, yet surprising nonetheless: The electric bass (Martin Dvoran) dances along, sometimes light-footed, sometimes – true to its reputation – piercingly deep within. This in constant interplay with the electric guitar (Pete Prison IV), which artfully interweaves driving melodies and noisy surfaces. Underpinned by the drums (me), played with subtle yet powerful force.
Mekongg is for those who want to listen closely, those who want to get lost, and those who are prepared (to report on a brilliant concert experience afterwards).
